Christie Wells-Jokinen

Licensed Clinical Social Worker # 61444

My Approach:

Hello, my name is Christie Wells-Jokinen. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been supporting individuals, families, teens, athletes, and teams for over 15 years. My experience expands over a wide range of settings and through a wide range of life’s challenges, across nearly all developmental stages of life, primarily specializing in grief, loss, trauma, and adjustment in life transitions.

My current passion, purpose, and area of specialty is in supporting student athlete wellness and performance. With a deep understanding of the pressure’s young athletes and high performers face, my approach centers around training mental skills to improve performance, while primarily focusing on the athletes wellness. This approach engages the athlete in perhaps even an entire shift in their mental framework and relationship with sport and outcomes, to first and foremost support student athlete wellness. I believe that a focus on the “being” rather than on the “doing” is at the heart of improving student athlete wellness and performance.

As a former D-1 NCAA student athlete, I have a deep understanding of not only the joy of sport and competition, but also the mental cost of sport and being a high performer. I combine this experience, my social work education on human behavior, training as a licensed therapist, as well as my certification in High Performance Mindset Training to provide student athletes a transformative approach to improving the athletes wellness and performance.

My Approach:

Hello! My name is Katy Pruitt and I have had the privilege of serving children, teens, adults, and families for over 18 years in the mental health field. I began my career working with children who experienced extreme trauma in a Residential Treatment facility and then transitioned to working in Intensive In-Home Programs/services for foster youth, children, and families all over the Sacramento region. More recently in my career, I became the Program Director for Intensive-Outpatient Programs/services that serve adults that are diagnosed with a severe or persistent mental health disorder(s). Since being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over seven years, in between it all, I have enjoyed working as well with private practice participating in play therapy with children and supporting family needs through family therapy.

My passion truly involves work with children and families. Throughout my career journey, I have learned that building upon strengths will help to highlight solutions to any struggle or complication, that an individual or family may be experiencing. I truly try to focus on how one can identify being healthy and happy through all of life’s endeavors. I look forward to the opportunity of supporting you and those you care about in your life!
